Communicating with each other is the only way we know what is happening. Keep up the great work. I just talked to my sister, Maribeth, and she can't understand why we are so adamant as a class to keep in touch with each other. She says she is in touch with only person from her class of 1967.

please take a look at this site. This is Dan McCabe's wife, Patricia
My talented wife is a professional artist and has created her own website. I had to learn more about File Transfer Protocol than I ever wanted to know (to publish the site). We are adding links and other goodies each weekend. Patty is a photo-realistic watercolorist. Check it/her out! http://www.patriciaschmidtart.com/

... I do remember Tom Neveldine. I purchased many parts from Neveldine’s Auto Parts when I still lived in the area long ago. That was back in the days when you could actually do your own car repair. The Neveldines are good people. My thoughts and prayers go out to all those who have suffered the loss of a loved one.

Irish Prayer
May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields.
May green be the grass you walk on,
May blue be the skies above you,
May pure be the joys that surround you,
May true be the hearts that love you.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand. ~~~~~~

May this find y'all happy and healthy.
Well, since my last communique another semester has come and gone. I had two pre-interns who decided that they could short circuit some assignments by basically dividing and conquering the work load. That did not fly well. I ended up giving them incompletes for the course and requesting that I be their university supervisor during their internship. Once exposed, they were very apologetic and contrite. So now they have to not only complete all the work of their teaching internship but jump through some hoops they should have last semester. The good news is both young men seem to be pretty good in the classroom. Perhaps a couple of style issues to iron out but all in all I'm hopeful.
This semester a new class of pre-interns is going well. They are not as outgoing as last semester's class so, at times I really have to draw them out during discussions.
Personally, Renae and I are doing well. We baby sit for the grand kids each Wednesday evening and have them sleep over at least one night on the weekends. Loving it! Each girl, Callie and Zoe, have had a birthday and are 8 and 5 respectively. It won't be too long before they start thinking Pop-Pop and Nae Nae aren't that much fun any more so we're milking it for all it's worth right now.
I helped my son-in-law coach Callie's youth soccer team. We played nine games and ended up 5 and 4, although nobody was supposed to keep score. Which was odd because every parent knew the score and the team's record. But the girls had fun and really improved throughout the season.
Renae and I put some miles on the Prius this Christmas. First we went to Melbourne, a 5 to 6 hour trip, to see her dad who is 85 and meet up with our son and his wife who flew in from Portland, OR. Then ,virtually turned around and drove to Waynesboro VA to see my mom who is 82.
It really hurts to see your parents having trouble getting around and/or struggling with words. I sometimes don't know which is worse, seeing them age or realizing that that is our own fate. But as Scarlet O'Hara would say" I just can't think about that right now".
May all be well in your little corner of the world.

Hi Deb,
Thanks for spreading the word about Dick. I see Dick as the wonderfully healthy athletic person he was all through school. Dick: enjoy your healing; it won’t take long. You da man!

I am happy playing truck driver. Once a week I drive a 400 horsepower sports-car with a 13 speed transmission to Boise Idaho and back to Portland, Oregon after spending a day visiting various warehouses in Idaho. The sports-car just happens to be 75 ft long and weighs up to 80,000 lbs. I drive through vast mountain country sometimes seeing hundreds of square miles at once with no sign of people except the ribbon of highway meandering through it. The rest of the week I work around Portland . Keep up the good work with your blogs!

Dick Shanahan
Received a very short email directly from Dick just before he left for Cleveland, telling me that he was going and that it was finally happening. He said, "keep your fingers crossed." There were sure a lot of us that had them crossed along with a few thousand prayers.
Dick Shanahan
Dick Shanahan had his lung transplant operation last night in Cleveland, Ohio. I received word from his wife Maureen early this morning that the operation was a success. I also heard from Tom Neveldine confirming that. When I know more I will definitely post.

San Antonio, Texas
San Antonio is a good place to go if you want to get (not to far) away for awhile if you are living in Central Texas. The Riverwalk is relaxing and the food is great. My grandson loves the boat tour along the Riverwalk. We discover new resaurants each time we go. Once you park your car at your hotel you can take a trolley, horse drawn carriage, or a bicycle drawn cart ride around town. I believe it must be one of the most popular business convention center locations in the US. So if you plan on visiting San Antonio, get your reservations early. It may be a busy place, but a must to visit. The history there is amazing starting with the Alamo. We live just an hour and half away and visit quite often as my daughter's meetings and trainings are usually on the Riverwalk.
I hope everyone had a nice Valentine's Day

Hi Debby.
I'm not lost! I know exactly where I am!!
Sandy Jacobson told me about the class blog in an e-mail recently, so I checked it out. Great Job! I see that many of my old buddies are participating, so I'll be sending something to you soon to "catch up." Actually, it's somewhat daunting to try and figure out where to start since so much has happened since '66.
Take care,
Bill Hall

Phil Evans
Nancy and I and another couple returned from Australia and New Zealand mid December, the start of their summer. Both countries were beautiful, particularly the South Island of New Zealand, where we spent most of our time. Spent several different days snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef, sea kayaking and catamaran sailing in the Tasman Sea off New Zealand, and sailing in the fiords of the South Island. Stayed a couple of nights at an ecological lodge on a sheep ranch at Arthurs Pass and one morning got a chance to watch the dogs at work. Did hiking or "tramping" as it's called, through the countryside and cities -- Sydney, Wellington, Nelson, Christchurch, Queenstown, and Auckland. All were unique, with friendly people everywhere. The New Zealand countryside is like stepping back to the U.S. in the 1950's. Nancy through a friend, actually got to teach a kindergarten class in Auckland on our last day, which was a thrill for her, now being a recently retired teacher.
Take care,
Phil

Terry Euston
I heard back from Terry. He's been in touch with Kevin Fitch, Stew Davis and Jamie Steele. He hopes to put some thoughts together and send them along for posting.
Frank Carroll
Frank is still in Fayetteville living in the family home and helping to take care of his mother, Adele. Frank and his brother are trying now to find the right nursing facility to move Adele as soon as possible.
Jim Carroll
Spoke with Jim today via our Verizon connection. He told me he has some interesting FM memorabilia. It's a small 3x5 size booklet that welcomes incoming freshmen to the high school. Does anyone else remember seeing that or possess one? I have the class scrapbook and would like very much to have things like that for it. If someone else has a copy or any other material they might want to contribute, please let me know.
Kevin Fitch
Duke Leonard
Chatted with Duke via Skype. It was last night for me and Wed am for him. He's scheduled to be back in the states in March. So if you want to catch up with him that's when you can find him back in AZ.
