You know all those seemingly endless public radio fund-raisers? We are sustaining members and are told that we’re entered into all the drawings. After years (and years) of being members we’re driving to Boston and after hearing the, “Please call now, 1-800-639-6391” plea for the umpteenth time I said to my husband, “Yeesch, you’d think after all these years we’d win something. I wonder if we’re really entered in all the drawings.” Yup, 15 minute later what do we hear but “Congratulations to Penrose and Schuyler Jackson of Hinesburg, Vermont. They’ve just won two round trip airfares for anywhere in the U.S.” Surreal.
