David Neary's Mother passed away on January 8th, 2014

Obituary:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               Dora Neary Dot, beloved mother of five rambunctious sons, passed away January 8, 2014 at her home in Fayetteville. Dora was married for over 70 years to Joseph L. Neary, formerly of Solvay. Born on Onondaga Hill in 1921, she moved to Pompey at age 12 to work the family dairy farm on Ridge Road. She was a proud graduate of St. Joseph's School of Nursing, and worked as school nurse at DeVillo Sloan School in Syracuse, and continued to care for others throughout her life. Dora's greatest pleasures in life included her grandchildren, the family camp on Lake Ontario, travels to the western US, Alaska and Virgin Islands, her wonderful friends Carolyn (Neary) Gillette of Dubois, Wyoming and Valda Root of Fayetteville, and faithful springer spaniel, Ruby. Grandma Dot is survived by husband, Joe; and sons, David (Diane) of Lander, Wyoming, Pat (Kyle) of Billings, Montana and Michael (Amy) of Fayetteville; along with eight grandchildren, Katie, Anna, Petar, Marien, Jessica, Bryce, Amanda and Michael; and two great-grandkids, Madison and Katie; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sons, John and Joe; her twin brother, Dave; and sister, Ruth (Bryan). Dora deeply touched many people throughout her life, and was particularly grateful for the love given her near the end by Moira Noble and Ann Gensler of Peace at Homecare. Mass will be held in celebration of her life on Tuesday, January 14 at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 400 Salt Springs St., Fayetteville. Corbett "Corky" Herrick




Our classmate Corky Herrick has passed away.
I received a letter from Plattsburgh, NY letting me know.
