Bill Adams

This is our classmate Bill Adams who passed away in 1966 due to an accident. Dave Wells supplied this photograph. There is no picture of him in the yearbook so this is a rare find. I worked with Bill's sister Robin Adams at WSYR Radio. I showed her my yearbook where Bill had signed it. She was very touched. Prior to the reunion I contacted her for anything about Bill she could supply. She was unable to supply any information or pictures of him. It's still a very palpable subject. See the Memorial and Tribute blog for more entries.

Reunion 45 is over

Reunion 45 is now over. Hard to believe.
People looked great and seemed to be very happy.
When I wasn't acting as "hostess," I was actually able to talk with people. Almost everyone showed up. Only a couple paid and then did not arrive.
There were two surprise people, Duncan Hamilton and Greg Reynolds.
to be continued....please go to the new reunion blog: http://reunion45.blogspot.com

Picnic at Green Lakes

I know I said rain or shine, but I didn't say cold and windy. The cookout at Green Lakes was abandoned shortly before noon.

It also looks like the brunch at Carrabbas will be a bust as well since many people are leaving Sunday morning which now will include me. Got to get back to St. Louis.

Bill Adams

Tributes

From Dave Wells on October 13th, 2011
I only attended FM for two years and it was a great change for me. Bill arrived for the senior year and lived down the street from me. We became good friends quickly and he was interesting and a lot of fun. It happened that we planned to attend college in the same town and so there was anticipation of the fun to continue. His life ended abruptly prior to graduation in a swimming accident.

He was quite a remarkable person who could be a bit larger than life. He was well liked and well respected, and I still think of him quite often - he was a great addition to our class for a short period of time.

Larry English

Some bad news from Larry English this evening. He's in the hospital and will miss all of the reunion. He had prepared a slide show and was to make one of the program presentations as well as help me on Friday set up for the party. He called me from the hospital to give me the news. He also had 2 classmates scheduled to stay at his house. I'm really disappointed about this. Larry and I had communicated for 5 years now about the reunion and was looking forward to seeing him.

Reunion 45/Debby

Just finished having a pre-reunion dinner with old friend/classmate Jim Carroll. He drove in from the Rochester area this afternoon. We spent the next few hours laughing and talking. It was great.

Debby Larus Doolittle

Am trying to get everything together for the reunion. What happens. I get a clogged kitchen sink. I have to find a plumber. My husband and I tried valiantly to open the drain with 2 size snakes. But after 16 years of clogging, it was beyond our capabilities. So $200 later, the drain is back to normal. I called Roto-Rooter. And they were great.
I also showed the technician/plumber what I thought was a slow leak in the guest bathroom. Guess what, it was. Now another $200 later, the toilet is re-seated and sealed and all is well with the world. Now I can get back to what I was working on before this all came about.

Tom Stone and Bob Gwinn

Bob Gwinn and Tom Stone held the "FM "66 Western Region class reunion"
at Tom's home in Gardiner MT on Sept 16th. It was a great time
complete with Elk steaks, guitar music, and a few Russian songs. Not
well attended (or advertised) but the important people were there!

More from Janice

There are 5 things in life you cannot recover:
A Stone...after it's thrown.
A Word...after it is said.
An Occasion...after it's missed.
The Time...after it's gone.
... A Person...after they die.
Life is Short, Break the rules. Forgive quickly, kiss slowly, love truly, laugh
uncontrollably and never ever regret anything that made you smile!
ENJOY LIFE!!! :)

Janice Cook Falvo

There comes a time in your life, when you walk away from all the drama and people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad, and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right, pray for the ones that don't. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is part of life, getting back up is living! Being alive is a gift.... living life happy is a choice!" :)

Jamie Steele

HI Deb, here are some pics that I sent Kerry Rose of the saw that was needed to get thru the old FM oak. If he has not sent you the stuff he is doing, I can forward it to you. The deal is that when some guys were trying to fell the dead oak in front of Wellwood, their chain saw was not long enough. I had stopped by to watch in sadness, and offered the old saw I got out of Mildred Hunt's trash years before. Mildred family owned all the land that Hunt Lane, Foxwood and I think your old neighborhood too. It was all part of the Hunt farm, the house of which is where Charles Edwards has lived for decaced, just a bit towards Manlius from Hoag La. Mildred's house was next to the farm, and the front quarter of her house was the old toll house that sat up on the road when it was a toll road. That's why the bus fare changed at Hoag La. She was a very nice lady, and we were good friends over the years. More to the story, but maybe you have already heard it. So here are some pics Kerry wanted of that old saw. Maybe I can bring it to the reunion! Jamie.

Sandy Jackson Epoch: Where were you when...

My five year old grandson is just learning about September 11, 2001. I am hoping that he learns a lot about our country, what we are all about, and the many historical events that have happened in the past generations which have formed this Great Country. In our own generation we have discussed where we were during three major events. Where were you???

On November 22, 1963 I was in Mr. Hollenbeck's History class when it was announced about the assassination of John F. Kennedy.
On Sugust 8, 1974 I was at 2000 Leagues Under the Sea at Disney World when Richard Nixon resigned before being impeached.
One September 11, 2001 I was at work at Clark Reservation Regional Office when we witnessed the plane crashes into the Twin Towers, the Pentagon, and the heroic crash in Shanksville, PA. I pray that in his lifetime he will experience a better hold on PEACE.

Dylan will also have to remember from his generation so far the many friends and families that have lost their homes and memories in the most devastating fires that have hit his home state of Texas. He will learn that many other states beside Texas have felt devistation from fires, flooding, hurricanes, tornadoes, dust storms, and more.

Thank you to all the Firefighters, Law Enforcement and the many many volunteers and donators that do not ever stop giving their all anytime there is a need.

Stay safe and God Bless America.

Sandy from Texas Today....Please do a rain dance for Texas and I also hear for California again

New Computer with Windows 7

I was forced to buy a new computer over the weekend because my 5 year old HP PC with XP suddenly did not work. I took it to the Geek Squad at Best Buy and they were pretty sure it was the hard drive.
Fortunately I had back up. It turns out there was nothing on my hard drive -- it failed. It actually cost less to get a new one than to try and fix the other. But nothing is where it should be. I couldn't even post to the blog. Have spent the last several hours today trying to figure the whole thing out.

This is the result. I up loaded a picture and am writing a post to see that it works. I had to change everything I was used to for the past 5 years. Very tedious. So I'm going to try and publish this now. And see. Fingers crossed. ---- It works. Yea!

Memorial Service for Patsy McAfee

The Parish of Immaculate Conception in Fayettevile will be having a mass at 9 A.M in memory of
Patricia Mc Afee on October 14 . All are welcome to attend. I would expect it to last approximately 45 minutes.
