In November I spent two weeks touring Turkey using a very inexpensive
guided tour with Gate1. It was simply outstanding, not sure how they make any
money. Accommodations and meals were excellent. Tour guide had a PHD in
political science and he was VERY educational. It was my first tour of an
Islamic country. There was a LOT to see, much more history than I had realized
in Turkey. Visited some fantastic ancient ruins. Attached is a photo of the
library of Celsus, completed in 135 AD in the ancient Roman city of Ephesus.
The people of Turkey were great and very friendly. I would highly recommend
going there. Off to Ireland in May for 2 weeks.
