45th reunion from Tom Weller

Hi Debby,
I think it would be great to schedule the reunion for September or October. One of the things I miss a lot out here is Autumn. Most of the vegetation out here just goes from green to dead and I miss the fall colors. That's my vote.
Take care.
Tom

Mike Phillips wins National MTB Title!

Mike is our middle son, the good news is he also has a graduate degree and a great job in R&D at Milwaukee Tool.

USA Cycling Mountain Bike National Championships - CN
USA, July 19-22, 2007

Thirty-year old Mike Phillips (Alterra/Specialized) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, earned the weekend's first stars and stripes jersey with a win in the men's semi-pro cross country race.
Phillips emerged from the woods early in the first lap ahead of the field. Unhampered by the slick mud that covered course after yesterday's deluge, he proceeded to extend the distance for the remaining two and a half laps. Phillips finished nearly a minute and half ahead of second place Weston Shempf (VisitPA.com). Ryan Iddings (Lapierre), who at one point was neck and neck with Schempf, rounded out the podium, finished nearly 10 minutes off the winning time.

Common Email Manners by the Angry Coder

"Somehow, somewhere, people got the notion that the internet was a buffer shielding us from the obligations of common manners. I would like to see this trend make an about-face, starting with email. When I send you an email, I would like a prompt reply (even if it is just to say that you'll have to get back to me later). I will extend you the same courtesy. It's sad that I have to write about a lesson that we all should have learned in Kindergarten. It's time for the trolls to crawl out of their caves and sharpen some of their social interaction skills. My name is Jonathon Goodyear, and I am the angry Coder. Do email black-holes irritate you? How do you deal with the offendors? What are some other heinous infractions of email etiquette? Share your experiences and voice your opinions..."http://www.angrycoder.com/article.aspx?ArticleID=13

The name of the team St. Louis Aces playing the Sacramento Capitals. It was fast paced with singles and doubles pairings.

Debby and Melinda in Missouri

Debby and Melinda rendezvoused half way between Columbia and St. Louis for 3 hours of non stop catching up. We had not seen each other since graduation so there was a lot to cover. Melinda is going to start working on searching out hard to find classmates. If anyone has information on people from the class they've been in touch with, please let us know. And if you'd like to help out in any way, let us know that as well.

Melinda Mussi Lockwood and Debby Larus Doolittle meeting for lunch.

Melinda lives in Columbia, MO, which is about 2 hours from where I live in St. Louis. We are going to each drive and hour toward each other and meet for lunch on the 17th of July. She is supplying me with a disc of photos from the senior high yearbook that are clean pictures. A number of the photos I want to use for the Then and Now Blog have writing across the faces. We're also going to review and discuss running a search committee to locate people in our class in preparation for the 45th reunion. Melinda and I haven't seen each other since graduation so it should be interesting. She used to live very close to me on Churchill Lane in Fayetteville.

Dave Vermilya/article on Camillus Town Shop

The Advocate
By David Vermilya

On March 7 the Camillus Town Shop reached a remarkable milestone. The program celebrated its 36th birthday. Many people claim it is the longest enduring teen program of its kind in New York State. Some say it may be so for the entire United States, particularly under the same leadership. And it is a tribute to the Camillus community that has supported and sustained a program that honors the interests of the youth population that is underserved in most other communities.

Melinda Mussi Lockwood

The trip was a wonderful chance for me to visit the small towns in Italy that my grandparents emigrated from in the early 20th century. The day we arrived in Berceto (southeast of Parma - in the mountains) there was a chestnut festival. My nephew, with whom I took the trip, had never eaten them before - he was unimpressed but -- loved the raspberry beer! It was a great trip; we saw Rome, Florence, Venice, and then flew home from Milan. My husband was unable to get away for the trip so Don and I went. Don is my sister's oldest son and is just a couple of years younger than me. We had a ball and I have not committed myself to going back and taking my granddaughter! This blog is great – thanks Debby for putting it together. Would love to attend a 45th – October would be great for me. Besides, fall is a beautiful time to be in upstate New York.

Gerry Phillips and family

Still new at this would love to edit! 1st pic is in Costa Rica on a 10 day mountain bike trip. 2nd is Denise (wife) with Mike (30), Gerry (me) and John (27) the youngest .....Kevin (36) Jennifer (37) missing.

Post from Dan Sheedy

Hi Debby,
I'm vacationing with son Ben (20) in the Thousand Islands. We're building a new recording studio at my cottage so I can work from here during the summer. We're soundproofing now, then we'll do the acoustic treatment to the voiceover room, followed by tests to "tune" the room.
With some luck, we should be operational in a week or so (probably longer).
My wife and younger son Jon will be coming up Thursday. Jon is finally going to take his driver's permit test tomorrow.
The weather thus far has been very nice and it's getting warmer every day. Life is good.
Dan

From Dan Sheedy

Let's see if this works, deb.
Let me know? Dan

Hi Debby,
How about an autumn reunion? Or if that wouldn't work out...what about scheduling it so that it falls on the anniversary of our graduation from
F-M? ...
I followed the link to the blog. I'm not very familiar with blogging, but from what I observed, it looks great and seems like a good idea.
We're still sweating out Regents tests with our son Jon. He had one yesterday and has two today, two tomorrow and one more next Wednesday. Yeesh! It brings back horrific memories.
Our eldest, Ben, just blew into town last night. He had a voice lesson to attend and will accompany his mother to a concert tomorrow night before joining me at our cottage for the weekend.
The weather here has been very nice this spring. Lots of sun and just enough rain. Very rare conditions for this area.
How are your dogs? Send more pictures if you get a chance. I love dogs (I have FOUR!) and would never be without one.
Have a nice day Debby.
Dan
